Are you searching for a relaxing, gentle, and non-invasive way to address multiple conditions throughout the entire body? Acupuncture is a highly-researched, safe, and effective treatment option that has been used to enhance wellness for thousands of years. Integrating acupuncture with chiropractic care can provide a profound impact on your health journey!

What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is an ancient practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, with a history spanning over 2,500 years. This technique involves the insertion of very thin needles into specific points throughout the body, promoting the flow of energy into “meridians”, or pathways. When energy is blocked or imbalanced throughout these pathways, this can lead to dysfunction or pain symptoms. Acupuncture helps to move this energy by increasing blood flow to the area, stimulate muscles and connective tissue, and promote healing properties at the cellular level.

Some of the Many Benefits of Acupuncture Include:

  • Stress Reduction: Acupuncture stimulates key points in the body that release endorphins, our natural “feel-good” hormones, helping to reduce stress and promote relaxation.

  • Decreased Aches and Pains: Acupuncture provides a deep stimulation to tight muscles and trigger points in order to bring blood flow and healing properties to the area to decrease pain and inflammation.

  • Improved allergies: There are many acupuncture points in the face to promote drainage and alleviate congestion caused by allergies or the common cold.

  • Induction of Labor: Certain acupuncture points are known to encourage natural labor induction for full-term pregnancies by promoting the movement of energy.

  • Treatment of Insomnia: By supporting the nervous system, acupuncture helps to activate the parasympathetic state, or our “rest and digest state”, which can lead to better, deeper sleep.

How we integrate acupuncture and chiropractic care:

Both acupuncture and chiropractic care are powerful, natural approaches for pain relief and function improvement when used individually, however, when combined, they offer a more comprehensive approach to health and expedite healing and results. Chiropractic adjustments ensure your joints are aligned, while acupuncture relaxes muscles and relieves stress throughout the body. Together, they optimize nervous system function and facilitate faster recovery!

What do our acupuncture treatments look like?

If you’re interested in adding acupuncture to your chiropractic care plan, your session at our clinic will last approximately 40 minutes: 20 minutes for chiropractic care, followed by 20 minutes of acupuncture. Individual acupuncture sessions are also available for 20 minutes.

The thin acupuncture needles are gently placed into the body and are often barely felt. You’ll then relax under a soothing heat lamp with calming music, allowing the needles to activate the healing process and relax the entire body. Midway through the session, we re-stimulate the needles to maximize their effects.
