Dr. Mikayla Stepp

Dr. Mikayla Stepp is a chiropractor and acupuncturist at Active Life Chiropractic, co-owned with her husband Dr. Charles Stepp. Originally from Spearfish, SD, she is proud to serve the Black Hills community she grew up in.

Dr. Mikayla earned her Bachelor of Exercise Science from Black Hills State University and her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Minnesota. Her clinical focus is in pregnancy, postpartum, women's health, and pediatric care — and she has invested deeply in the advanced training to support these populations well. She is Webster Certified and pregnancy and pediatric trained through the ICPA, and is currently working toward her board certification and diplomate in pediatric chiropractic through the American Chiropractic Association.

Her approach is rooted in finding the why behind what you're feeling — not just treating the symptom in front of her. She combines chiropractic adjustments, soft tissue therapies, acupuncture, and individualized rehab exercises to address the root cause, and believes that educating her patients is just as important as treating them. Longer appointments, honest conversations, and care that empowers rather than creates dependency — that's the standard she holds herself to every day.

When she's not in the clinic, you can find her reading a good book, hiking with Charles, or hunting down a new coffee shop to try.
